Sudanese Protests in Geneva and Brussels Demand No-Fly Zone Over Sudan

Today, December 14, 2024, Sudanese protesters and human rights activists gathered in Geneva and Brussels to demand urgent international action in response to airstrikes targeting civilians in Sudan. The demonstrations, held outside the European Union headquarters in Brussels and the United Nations offices in Geneva, called for the imposition of a no-fly zone over Sudan and condemnation of military leadership.

Protesters carried banners and chanted slogans highlighting the devastating impact of ongoing aerial bombings on Sudanese civilians. They urged the European Union to issue strong condemnations against these airstrikes and to take immediate steps to implement a no-fly zone to protect civilians.

The demonstrations also emphasized the need for restoring legitimacy in Sudan, calling for accountability measures against military leaders responsible for escalating the conflict. Activists warned that without international intervention, the humanitarian crisis in Sudan will continue to worsen.

These protests are part of broader efforts to draw global attention to Sudan’s plight, with participants stressing the importance of international solidarity and decisive action to halt the suffering of the Sudanese people.
