London Protest Exposes Sudanese Army’s Alleged Use of Chemical Weapons
Dozens of Sudanese activists and human rights advocates gathered in central London on Sunday to protest alleged war crimes committed by the Sudanese Armed Forces, including the reported use of chemical weapons against civilians in conflict zones.
The demonstration, held near the UK Parliament, featured symbolic imagery as protesters wore yellow hazmat suits and gas masks to draw attention to the use of toxic agents. Placards read “Stop Chemical Attacks” and “Our Children Deserve Clean Air,” as participants demanded international action.
“This is not just a protest — it’s an alarm bell for the world,” said one of the organizers. “Civilians in Sudan are being gassed, and silence from the global community is unacceptable.”
The protest comes amid growing reports from rights organizations accusing the Sudanese military and allied militias of deploying chemical agents in densely populated areas. Activists say the alleged attacks have resulted in numerous civilian casualties, including women and children.
Protesters called for an independent international investigation and urged the British government to pressure international bodies into launching immediate inquiries and accountability measures.
As of the time of writing, Sudanese authorities have issued no public statement in response to the protest or the chemical weapons allegations.
